Bring Me The Horizon Banned From Using The Term ‘Mosh Pit’

The interwebs are abuzz with chit chat regarding possible legal action taken against metalcore giants Bring Me The Horizon. Unconfirmed reports suggest that a young fan was hurt at one of the band’s shows, with a lawsuit then filed by the parents of the girl, resulting in a ban on using terms such as “mosh pit” being imposed on the band.

The girl’s age is being thrown around at 11 or 12 years old, and it seems the incident in question took place at a recent leg of Warped Tour, though these details have yet to be confirmed.

According to tweets from vocalist Oli Sykes, the band is no longer allowed to use terms such as “mosh pit”, “wall of death” or similar. When asked who was responsible for these restrictions, Sykes simply replied, “The man”.

Anyone who has previously seen Bring Me perform live will know that both mosh pits and walls of death are key features in the crowd, so how live shows progress from here should be interesting. Hopefully when the band are in town soon, they will have come up with some appropriate code words.

Hang tight as more details are sure to surface throughout the day.

UPDATE: After a stressful few hours for all those currently holding Warped Tour tickets, Sykes has tweeted that the band isn’t getting sued, and that “no one will ever ban the mosh”. However there is still plenty of buzz around the topic, and it may be a general rule applied to all bands performing on Warped and not just Bring Me as mentioned by Property Of Zack.
