Chad Smith Teases Will Ferrell Drum-Off Sequel For This Month

The celebrity drum battle to end all celebrity drum battles, The Drum-Off between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, could get a sequel. According to a Facebook post from the Red Hot Chili Peppers sticks-man, a charity event in Seattle could set the stage for an end to the most epic doppelgänger battle in history.

Smith, obviously still reeling from his loss to the funnyman’s undeniable chops with a cowbell, told Facebook followers, “Will Ferrell claims he’s coming to Seattle on September 19. I’ll bet he pops off about his alleged ‘Drum Off’ victory. I just might have to be there to call him out on it and settle the score once and for all. The only way you will know for sure is if you are actually there to see it with your own two eyes.”

Ferrell will be in Seattle for 90 Minutes With Will Ferrell, an event during which the actor will share behind-the-scenes stories from throughout his career, while sharing the stage with a number of guests. Much like the first Drum-Off, proceeds from the show will go to the Cancer for College non-profit group.

Readers looking to relive the first time Smith and Ferrell squared off on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon back in May can check out the clips below. The feud came to a head after months’ worth of shade-throwing from the two dead ringers. After Ferrell emerged as the victor, the two set their sights on Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich.
