Corey Taylor Hasn’t Heard Any Of Slipknot’s New Music

Slipknot could be ready to release new music sooner than we thought, but Corey Taylor hasn’t heard any of his band’s new music.

In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Slipknot’s M. Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan said that he and fellow band members Jim Root and Jay Weinberg have “over 27 ideas ready to go – seven or eight of them are full songs”.

Now Taylor has revealed that he’s yet to hear any of the new material. Speaking with LoudWire he admitted that he didn’t even know that the new music had been written.

“I have no idea,” he said. “I haven’t even heard any of this stuff. In true Slipknot fashion, I’m being told through the press that this is all going on.”

It didn’t stop the band’s frontman from postulating on what the new stuff might sound like. “I can guarantee you that it’s very creative, I can guarantee you that it’s dark.

“I can guarantee you that it’s going to be unlike anything I’ve ever heard before. I know [Clown’s] mind, I know Jim [Root]’s mind. I just am really looking forward to hearing it when I’m allowed to hear it.”

In true Corey style, Taylor then took to Twitter to ask his fans to take his own words in the interview “with a grain of salt”.

“I JUST spoke to the SK guys and I’ll be hearing new music soon,” he tweeted overnight.

Slipknot’s last album came in 2014 in the form of .5: The Gray Chapter.
