Corona & Merivale Announce ‘Sunday Sundown’ Live Music Series

Corona and the hospitality company Merivale are teaming up to offer a new Australian live music series called Sunday Sundown, showcasing 39 breakthrough local acts across three sun-soaked waterside venues — Coogee Pavilion, ivy Pool Club and The Newport.

Set to be held for a just under three months — from Sunday, 3rd January to Sunday, 20th March — and featuring the likes of The Preatures, Tkay Maidza and Gypsy & The Cat, Sunday Sundown has given itself the rather lofty goal of bringing “live music back to the forefront of Sydney’s enviable summer”.

The Coogee Rooftop is where it all kicks off on Sunday, 3rd of January, with The Preatures playing an acoustic set. Following that, a SAFIA DJ set rounds out January, with the likes of Dustin Tebutt, Nicky Night Time, Yahtzel, Tyler Touché, E^ST and triple j‘s Tom Tilley in February and March. There’s free entry to each and every Coogee Pavilion show.

The ivy Pool Club is the next party domino to fall, with Tkay Maidza getting all up in there on 10th January, followed by a DJ set from Sydney’s own KLP on 24th January. Things quiet down a bit then in February and March with Holyghost and tropical-trap don L D R U. Entry to the ivy Pool Club shows will set you back $20.

Last but not least, Merivale’s new venue The Newport will be launching in February, after which the lush alfresco deck and soaring views of Pittwater will be open to all. Gypsy & The Cat will be christening the live music facilities in February, followed by the likes of Saskwatch, Asta, Ben Lee and Mansionair. All of the Newport shows will also be free.
