After an influx of diehard Crowded House fans crashed the Sydney Opera House website last week in an attempt to purchase tickets to the band’s upcoming Encore shows, resale tickets have now been advertised online at prices as high as $1,500.
Regardless of the fact that an additional third show has been announced to keep up with demand, tickets have been put up for sale on the Ticketmaster Resale website at prices much higher than the original $120-$130 ticket price.

Ticketmaster Resale lets ticket-holders determine their own resale prices for previously purchased tickets, and it seems there’s not much of a limit to how high these prices can soar. With only 5,000 tickets available per show, compared to their infamous Crowded House 1996 Farewell to the World concert which drew over 100,000 people, we think it’s safe to assume that there will be quite a few unhappy fans left blankly staring at these sky-rocketing resale prices.
Crowded House’s first two Encore shows in Sydney on November 25th and 26th sold out in seconds. The band have now arranged to play a third date on November 24th, which will go on pre-sale at midday today, and will go on sale to the general public tomorrow, 28th September, at midday. Kirin J Callinan will be the support act for all three shows.
