Death Grips Say They’re Working With ‘Shrek’ Director On New Music

Death Grips have never been predictable artists but news that they’re working with the director of Shrek Andrew Adamson may be the most shocking yet.

The band shared a photo inside the studio with Adamson who directed both Shrek and Shrek 2.

“Working on the new album with Andrew Adamson,” they confirmed in the caption simultaneously confusing and exciting fans.

It’s unclear exactly what he’ll be doing on the album at this stage. Adamson doesn’t have a history of releasing music but we suppose Shrek had musical numbers in it.

It’s somewhat a case of memes becoming reality because in 2014 someone mashed Death Grips with Smash Mouth’s ‘All Star’ featured in the Shrek movie and called it Shrek Grips.

The other exciting part of this news is that Death Grips are in the studio working on the follow-up to 2016’s Bottomless Pit. That last song we heard from them was an 11-minute ‘electronic drum solo’.
