Disturbed Drop Cover Of Sting’s ‘If I Ever Lose My Faith In You’

Disturbed have built up a reputation for producing incredible covers over the last few years, and now they’ve delivered their latest one, a take on a 1993 classic by Sting.

The metal outfit have now recorded and released their own take on ‘If I Ever Lose My Faith In You’.

Disturbed have covered a stack of classic tunes over a long period, most notably their version of ‘The Sound Of Silence’ by Simon & Garfunkel, which returned to the rock charts globally after they released their cover.

Now this Sting cover looks set to be their latest big tribute success.

The single was originally released by Sting on his album Ten Summoner’s Tales, and Disturbed frontman David Draiman puts his own golden touch on the tune.

A bit like their Simon & Garfunkle cover, it begins with a haunting build-up, and peaks towards the middle when instrumentation is redoubled, and guitars come in and crush the melody.

Upon releasing the cover Disturbed said they’ve “loved” the song “for a long time”.

“…even though it was released in 1993, it seems strangely applicable to today’s world,” the band said in a statement.

“The song is about losing faith, and might initially sound pessimistic, but it’s about the importance and power of personal relationships, and how they can save you and provide solace in an increasingly confusing world.”

The release of ‘If I Ever Lose My Faith In You’ comes with a creepy music video, with shadowy figures, windows, fireplaces and smoke.
