Django Django Tease January 2016 Australian Tour

UK indie darlings Django Django have teased plans to return to Australia for some shows around New Year’s Eve and early January 2016, perhaps in time for an appearance at some Aussie summer festivals.

Speaking to triple j this afternoon, Django Django drummer and producer David MacLean revealed the band were looking to relive their 2013 Australian visit which included stops at Falls Festival and Field Day.

“[We’re] pencilled in to do the same thing we did a couple years ago, sort of come over in New Year time,” he said. “We’re all very keen to do it, have a little surfing holiday thrown in there too – like last time…Watch this space for January 2016.”

The last time Django Django toured Australian was after the release of their self-titled debut album. Should they return in 2016, they’ll be touting their forthcoming follow-up Born Under Saturn, which is scheduled to drop on Friday, 1st May.

MacLean explained the album was co-produced by Neil Combe who oversaw the band enter a proper studio for the first time ever to record the 13-track album. Check out, Beginning to Fade, a fresh cut from the new record, below.
