Elton John To Tour Australia In 2017

The one and only Sir Elton John has announced that he will return to Australia for a string of concerts later this year, and he’s already locked in two shows in Queensland.

Sir Elton and his band will bring their ‘Once In A Lifetime’ tour to Australia in a few months’ time, and the music icon will perform some of his greatest hits for his Aussie fans.

Shows are currently booked in Mackay and Cairns, with tour promoters Chugg Entertaiment saying Sir Elton will perform a total of four shows in Australia.

“Three of the first-and-last time events will be in cities he has never played before, and one is an intimate revisit of more than 25 years,” reads the Chugg Entertainment website.

“I always love coming back to Australia,” says Sir Elton. “It holds a very special place in my heart, ever since my first visit there at the start of my world-wide career in 1971.

“My band and I are really looking forward to playing there again in September and this tour will be even more memorable because it will be the first time I have ever played Mackay and Cairns… which I can’t believe, but there you have it.”

Sir Elton’s ‘Once In A Lifetime’ tour will feature songs from his five-decade career, and will see the muso backed by his original drummer Nigel Olsson, as well as musical director Davey Johnstone on guitar, Matt Bissonette on bass, John Mahon on percussion and Kim Bullard on keyboards.

Sir Elton first performed in Australia way back in October 1971, and it looks like he’ll never stop coming back. Catch his just-announced Queensland tour dates below, as we wait for others to be announced.

Elton John has announced a show in Hobart as part of his Australian ‘Once In A Lifetime’ tour — his first show in the city in over 25 years. No additional shows are expected to be announced. Details below.

Elton John has announced a second Hobart show as part of his Australian ‘Once In A Lifetime’ tour. Extra tickets for all other shows are also expected to be released shortly. Details below.
