Foo Fighters Might Bring A New Sonic Highways Series To Australia

Foo Fighters have suggested that we might be up for another series of Sonic Highways, and even bigger news they’re suggesting it could go global and hopefully bring them to Australia.

The Sonic Highways HBO series was aired around the release of their latest album of the same name and documented the band recording one song each in eight iconic studios across America. The eight songs together made up the Sonic Highways LP.

Speaking to Billboard, Grohl said, “There might be a season two. There are a lot of studios.”

It seems for series two Grohl and co would have their sights set further afield than America. “If we went to somewhere like Abbey Road it’d be fun to interview someone like Paul McCartney or George Martin, that’d be kind of cool,” he said. “Or go to say, Berlin, and interview someone like David Bowie or Iggy [Pop].”

Guitarist Chris Shiflett then added that maybe Australia would be an opportune place to bring the doco-series. “Perhaps we could go to Melbourne wherever they made all those AC/DC records and interview George Young,” he said.

Given that the first series was based around the release of a record it wouldn’t be crazy to assume that a second series could also mean a new LP for the band. It seems there’s no promises yet but Aussie fans will no doubt be hoping that Shiflett’s suggestion gets a look-in. May we humbly suggest the boys stop at Music Feeds Studio, where Aussie rockers Midnight Oil and Cold Chisel recorded some of their biggest albums.

Foo Fighters were just in Australia last month for a run of mighty stadium shows.
