Here Are The Front-Runners For Triple J’s Hottest 100 Of 2015

Original Story: With voting closed for triple j‘s Hottest 100 of 2015, it’s time to bring together the latest betting odds and the best expert predictions to figure out which tracks will probably take out the top spots on this year’s countdown.

Below, Music Feeds has compiled the latest Hottest 100 odds from Oddschecker, as well as the impressive work of The Tepid 100 (aka Melbourne university student Ed Pitt) and self-confessed “Hottest 100 enthusiast” Patrick Avenell, who are both confident with their predictions for this year’s Hottest 100 after spending countless hours crunching the numbers.

Based on these latest odds and predictions, Kendrick Lamar’s King Kunta appears to be the favourite to take the top spot when this year’s countdown finally rolls around on Australia Day, 26th January.

The gallery of this year’s front-runners (below) features a solid number of Aussie acts who look likely for top 10 positions (Noice!), but it’s clear the bookies’ top 10 picks are male-dominated, with Danish singer MØ the only female appearing on the list with her vocals on Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s Lean On.

According to triple j, over two million votes were cast for the Hottest 100 of 2015, with over 16,000 songs voted for. The final result appears to have already been figured out, because triple j says that 54 of the 100 songs are Australian (slightly down from last year’s 59).

What’s more, triple j says there are 26 acts making their debut on the Hottest 100 this year — a year in which the average BPM (Beats Per Minute) for a Hottest 100 song is 123 (compared to last year’s 121 and 2013’s 116).

The Hottest 100 of 2014 saw Chet Faker claim top spot with his hit single Talk Is Cheap, which was followed by tracks from the likes of Peking Duk, Hilltop Hoods and Milky Chance.
