Australia’s national delicacy of a band, Gang Of Youths, are making an impression on the world stage, and it’s no real secret that Dave Grohl loves them, with the boys today being announced as a support act on Foo Fighters’ upcoming US tour.
Already scheduled to perform at Foo Fighters’ Cal Jam festival this October, Gang Of Youths will later join Foos on some of the North American leg of their Concrete And Gold Tour in the same month.
Foo Fighters are also being supported by the likes of Speedy Ortiz, Dinosaur Jr. and The Struts at select shows along the way.
We’re quietly hoping for an onstage collaboration between Foos and Gang Of Youths, especially following Foo Fighters’ recent collab with Guns N’ Roses on their song ‘It’s So Easy’.
Gang Of Youths have recently made a massive impression on the US with their SXSW performances, their US TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers and a massive tour. They’re set to play Lollapalooza in Chicago, Osheaga in Quebec, and (of course) Cal Jam later this year.
The band are already having a huge year, and it doesn’t look like it’ll stop any time soon. After they finish up with the Fooies they’re coming home for their biggest national tour to date.
