Hear Garbage Go Industrial On Surprise New Track ‘No Horses’

Surprise! Garbage have hit us with a brand new track out of the blue, and gird your opinions because — as frontwoman Shirley Manson disclaimers — it’s “very un-Garbage like”.

The Scottish-American alt-rock legends have dipped their toes into the EDM pond on new track ‘No Horses’ which kind-of vibes like Eurythmics meets Nine Inch Nails.

It’s a dystopian industrial rocker described by the band’s frontwoman as a “dream-fuelled anxiety attack”, which the grunge icons have dropped in honour of their new US tour alongside the one and only Blondie.

“It’s actually a song that’s very un-Garbage like,” Manson tells Variety about the track.

“I was driving through the Scottish countryside last year and looking at these fields of horses and thinking, what will happen to them when we don’t need them as much as we once did? When they’re no longer working beasts, what will happen to the horses? So it’s an imagining of the future where the authorities destroy anything that doesn’t make large amounts of money.

“It’s very Patti Smith stream of consciousness, very pertinent politically to what’s going on,” she added.

You can get your ears on ‘No Horses’ below, or download it here (with all proceeds going to the Red Cross).
