Hear London Grammar’s Soaring Cover Of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’

London Grammar‘s Hannah Reid could sing the phonebook and sound good so it’s perhaps unsurprising that their cover of Prince‘s epic ‘Purple Rain’ is huge.

The British trio took on the cover for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge bringing their own brooding textures to the ballad that became one of Prince’s most well-known songs.

As per usual, London Grammar brought the song into their own world, making it sound like it could be right at home on their most recent record The Truth Is A Beautiful Thing.

In just a few days, the band will be in the country for a headline tour. It’s the first time they have toured here since the album dropped although they gave audiences a cheeky preview earlier in the year when they played Falls Festival.

By many accounts, the vocals are just as amazing live as they are on record and this latest cover is proof of that too.

Check out the cover below and get excited for the tour if you’re heading along. Many of the shows are sold out.
