Here Are Your Triple J Hottest 100 2014 Frontrunners

The triple j Hottest 100 2014 countdown is nigh and, as it happens every year, speculation is rampant about which acts will dominate the top end of the poll come Australia Day. To help filter all the chatter, we’ve gone ahead and analysed your Hottest 100 of 2014 frontrunners.

Our analysis has been determined by using a few sources who offered up their poll predictions over the last few weeks. Online bookmakers have been sporadically providing their odds on who will poll best in the countdown, with Peking Duk still holding peak-ing duk position in 2015. Recently Social Hottest 100 shared their predictions of the entire poll’s results, based on voting data collated via social media.

Also taken into account was AirCheck’s data on triple j’s most played songs of the past year, data collected from the Hottest 100 Hypometer which tracks Hottest 100 online chatter and, of course, our own wits.

Throwing a spanner in the works this year is the infamous #Tay4Hottest100 social media push, which aims to get Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off into the list. There is, of course, the push back against it too. Triple j has stayed quiet on how it plans on reacting to the campaign, so whether or not Shake It Off will feature in the countdown remains in question.

UPDATE: Triple J’s Hottest 100 is underway, and Taylor Swift has officially been disqualified.
