Here’s The First Setlist From Placebo’s 2017 Australian Tour

Placebo kicked off their 2017 Australian tour in Adelaide last night, after an undisclosed illness affecting frontman Brian Molko led the band to cancel their Perth show on Monday night.

With all of Placebo’s other Aussie shows now confirmed to go ahead, fans have had a sneak peak at what they can expect when the band make their way through Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle and Canberra (and possibly back to Perth).

According to the setlist (below) posted by fans on Setlist.fm, Placebo played a total of 20 songs in Adelaide overnight, including a one-song encore.

Playing tracks from across their discography, the band leant mainly towards cuts from Loud Like Love and Sleeping With Ghosts, but also revived songs from older albums like Black Market Music and their self-titled debut.

Recent singles like ‘Jesus’ Son’ and ‘Too Many Friends’ made the cut, as did older fan favourites like ‘Pure Morning’, ‘Special Needs’, ’36 Degrees’ and the band’s cover of Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’, which was played as an encore.

‘Without You I’m Nothing’ reportedly included a tribute to the band’s late friend David Bowie, but ‘Nancy Boy’ appears to have been noticeably absent.

Placebo’s Australian tour will continue in Melbourne on Friday night. The band are hoping to reschedule their cancelled Perth show for a new date at the end of the tour.
