Here’s The First Trailer For The New Michael Hutchence Doco ‘The Last Rockstar’

A new documentary about the life of late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence has revealed its first trailer, and it is intense.

Michael Hutchence: The Last Rockstar is “coming soon” to Channel Seven, but is still without an official release date. The station has confirmed that it will be broadcast ahead of the 20th anniversary of the late musician’s death, which means it’ll be here before 22nd November.

The film is set to include previously unheard songs, never-before-seen home videos recorded by Hutchence himself and passages from his diary, taken from his final days.

“This is not Michael Hutchence defined by how he died but by how he lived: a brilliant musician, a brilliant man, a loving father, a true rockstar,” says Executive Producer Mark Llewellyn.

“This is not a biopic treading over old territory – this will make headlines around the world. New music, new revelations, and the most beautiful home video and insights from his closest friends and family; most of whom have never spoken publicly before.

“Michael left more questions than answers when he left us, and this documentary will provide those answers and much, much more.”

A number of documentaries about Hutchence have been in development over the last few years, including one by Sydney entrepreneur Ron Creevey and another by Searching For Sugar Man filmmakers Passion Pictures.
