Hey Australia, Here Are Your Most Streamed Artists Of All Time According To Spotify

It was Spotify’s fourth birthday today and to celebrate they selflessly gave us all a gift by revealing the most streamed Australian artists ever on the platform.

They counted down from number 20 to number one on Twitter, giving us a few tidbits along the way.

The names that made the list are somewhat unsurprising. Tame Impala, RÜFÜS, Hilltop Hoods and Flume all got a nod but there were a few newbies creeping in there like Troye Sivan who came very close to the top 10 at number 11. His worldwide hit YOUTH has had 140 million streams since it was released.

It was Sia though who took out the top spot mostly thanks to her mega hit Chandelier. According to Spotify, it clocked up half a billion plays and if you repeated it one after the other half a billion times it would take 78 years to get through.

They dropped some worldwide facts along the way too letting us know that Flume is the 52nd most streamed artist in the world right now. That’s pretty huge considering he’s yet to even release his second album. His buddy Chet Faker has also had his records, including his debut album Built On Glass, streamed 200 million times since it was released.
