Jack White Has Finally Hit The Big Time

As evident in a new photo that has just surfaced online, blues rocker Jack White recently sat down over coffee with the world’s favourite musical parodist ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, which means, by Jack White’s own estimations, that he has now officially “made it”.

As CoS point out, when recently asked in an interview about the moment when he knew he had “made it” Jack White responded, “When I have coffee with ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic one day, that’s when I’ll know.” He added, “People say ‘I know I’ve made it when ‘Weird Al’ covers your song. That’s not true. You have to have coffee with him.”

By the hand of whatever powers that be, today it has happened. Jack White has made it. Given the short time frame between Jack White’s comment and this “chance” encounter, the likelihood that they just happened to bump into each other at a downtown coffee shop isn’t high, but still, it’s nice to see a world famous music satirist give a newcomer the time of day.

In the same interview with Jordan Klepper of The Daily Show, White also talks about the “hilarious” resurgence of vinyl, how Seven Nation Army is basically a folk song now and how he has hidden various poems, as well as old vinyl singles, inside furniture. Upholstery, it turns out, is still a passion of his.

Recently Jack White showed off his rather underrated rapping ability at a show in New York’s Madison Square Garden when he was joined on stage by A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip. White’s show also saw Rage Against The Machine’s Zack de la Rocha team up with Run The Jewels live on stage.
