Katy Perry Accused Of Plagiarism By Dillon Francis

Moombahton producer Dillon Francis has hit out at Katy Perry, accusing the pop sensation of plagiarism over the lyric video for current single Roar, which he claims is ripping of the video for his Messages.

Rather than getting in a huff about it, Francis has kept his composure though understandably it seems he still wants answers. The producer took to Twitter to voice his concerns over the originality of Perry’s clip which, exactly as his does, features the lyrics on display as an iPhone text message conversation, emoticons and all.

Though the backgrounds on the phone are different, the idea is exactly the same. Francis compares the situation with that of Flo Rida and Diplo who are butting heads over a similar originality issue.

However, unlike Flo Rida and Diplo, Francis has been able to hold onto a sense of humour about the situation, suggesting that it’s more of a compliment from Katy Perry’s director than anything, insisting that he isn’t being sarcastic with that either.

Roar is proving to be somewhat of a pain for the pop princess after the track was leaked days before its scheduled release date. You can check out both video clips below and compare for yourself. Also below, you will find the brief Twitter rant from Francis.
