Lady Gaga Is Going On A Hiatus From Music

Lady Gaga has announced she’ll be taking a break from music, citing that due to her ongoing health issues she wants to reflect and slow down for a moment.

As Variety reports, Gaga was speaking openly about her well documented health issues and struggles with chronic pain at the Toronto Film Festival, promoting her new Netflix film Gaga 5’2”.

In 2016 Lady Gaga revealed she had been diagnosed with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) following years of “searching for answers to chronic pain.”

Just this week she was forced to cancel a concert in Montreal due to illness.

“There is an element and a very strong piece of me that believes pain is a microphone,” she told reporters in Toronto. “My pain really does me no good unless I transform it into something that is. I hope that people watching it that struggle with chronic pain know they are not alone.”

Despite reiterating her belief that music is a “powerful” tool for healing, Gaga revealed that she’s to take an indefinite break from music, although she will continue to work on other projects.

“I am going to take a rest,” she said. “I don’t know how long. That doesn’t mean I won’t be creating. I’m looking forward to reflecting and slowing down for a moment.”

Lady Gaga is set to star in a remake of A Star Is Born alongside Bradley Cooper.
