Lana Del Rey Reveals Release Date For Her New Album ‘Honeymoon’

The long-awaited follow-up to Lana Del Rey’s acclaimed sophomore album Ultraviolence will reportedly reach our eardrums this September.

Entitled Honeymoon, the new record has been shrouded in rumour and mystery since it was first announced back in January.

According to Reddit though, Lana Del Rey let the album’s September release date slip during a live performance in Washington State, overnight.

Little is known by way of concrete facts about the artist formerly known as Lizzy Grant’s third LP, but she has previously described it as “noirish”, “very different” from her last album, and more similar in sound to her 2012 LP, Born to Die.

As Stereogum reports, the singer also commented on one fan’s Instagram post earlier this week, calling Honeymoon a “beautiful retro future record” and revealing that she’s already shot two videos for it.

While it’s been rumoured that Del Ray has also been working with superstar producer Mark Ronson on the forthcoming disc, what we do know is that Honeymoon will contain at least nine original new tracks, as well as a cover of Nina Simone’s Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood with production from pop wizard, Rick Nowels.

The songstress is currently touring with support from Courtney Love and Grimes across the US, where she’s debuted a few unreleased tracks live. No word on whether they’ll be figuring into the Honeymoon equation though.

Aussie fans, meanwhile, continue to hold out hope that the release of Del Rey’s third album will bring the singer back to our shores for the first time since 2012.
