Laneway To Curate Stage At London’s Field Day Festival

The 2011 Australian Laneway Festivals featured a stage curated by both the UK’s famed promoters Eat Your Own Ears, as well as Chicago’s Windish Agency. Now, it has been announced that in a reciprocal agreement Laneway will curate a stage at London’s Field Day Festival, at the invitation of Eat Your Own Ears’ head honcho Tom Baker.

Field Day, which takes place in east London’s Victoria Park, is set for August 5. Laneway’s Danny Rogers is quoted by the Music Network as saying, “Field Day London and the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival have much in common and pride themselves on being leaders in presenting the highest calibre acts to their respective markets, often before they’ve broken. We are proud that we are committed to the same goals, ethos and ideals as such an awesome festival like Field Day and are ecstatic to be a part of something that is doing truly great things.”

Unfortunately, the Laneway stage at Field Day will not have a special Australian emphasis, although due to appear on the stage are 2.54, Connan Mockasin, James Blake, Jamie Woon, Matthew Dear, Mount Kimble, The History of Apple Pie, The Horrors and Twin Shadow.

The Field Day involvement marks the second stage of Laneway’s ambitious branching out into the world, what with a recent party from Laneway at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
