Listen: New Limp Bizkit Song ‘Lightz (City of Angels)’ Leaked Online

A new Limp Bizkit track titled Lightz (City of Angels) has leaked online over the past weekend, first appearing on YouTube before being taken down. Of course the Internet prevails, and it’s popped up in various other places for your listening pleasure. Speaking of the track’s listening pleasure, it’s already received some scrutiny before its official release, with MetalHammer magazine giving it a complete roasting, saying the auto-tuned poppy chorus makes it sound like a “Rhianna power ballad”. Ouch.

Apparently, it’s not going to be the first single to appear on their upcoming new album, which has been titled Stampede of the Disco Elephants, with frontman Fred Durst explaining to fans on Twitter (below) that it was leaked prematurely and that they didn’t intend for it to be the first video and single from the album.

Stampede of the Disco Elephants is looking for a 2013 release with work commencing earlier this month. LB will be working with their new label Cash Money and their new label boss Lil Wayne. The first official single is likely to be titled Pain, and will most likely appear before the year’s out. Guitarist Wes Borland commented on the recent time in the studio with Limp Bizkit, stating (Via Banana1015) “We’ve had several studio sessions now where we’ve been writing. They’ve been kind of short, three songs here, two songs there, four songs here. We’ve been writing in different ways.”
