Lorde Thanks Perth Fans For “Sensitivity” During Food Poisoning Bout

Lorde has thanked her Perth fans for their “kindness” and “sensitivity” after the New Zealand singer had to leave the stage at Challenge Stadium momentarily following complaints that she was “not feeling very well.” The singer’s illness was apparently due to a mysterious bout of food poisoning.

The incident occurred midway through a performance of the track Buzzcut Season off Lorde’s debut album, Pure Heroine. “Perth, I’m just not feeling well,” the singer says, holding her stomach in footage from the gig below. “I’m very sorry. Just give me one second. I’m really sorry about this.”

According to The Music, after leaving the stage, Lorde returned and apologised to the audience, explaining that she had almost passed out. The singer was uncharacteristically lethargic for the rest of her performance, at one point requesting a chair so she could sit down and speak to the crowd.
