Lostprophets Frontman On Suicide Watch, Requests Psychiatric Hospital Move

Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins is reportedly on suicide watch and has requested a move to a psychiatric hospital from Parc Prison in Wales, where he has been held since December after being charged with multiple child sex offenses, including two counts of rape of a 1-year-old child.

Watkins today appeared in Cardiff Crown Court via video link, where The Independent reports the frontman’s barrister, Sally O’Neill, requested the move.

She also asked for Watkins to be prescribed medication, saying, “He has been seen by a clinical psychologist and she believes he should be receiving anti-psychotic medication. She wants him to be taken to a secure hospital for assessment and treatment… He is on suicide watch five times an hour.”

The 35-year-old continues to deny all charges against him, which include raping a baby and possessing an extreme image of a person having sex with an animal. He has two female co-defendants, aged 20 and 24 years old, who also appeared in court today. The 24-year-old also denies all charges against her but the 20-year-old has admitted to sexually touching a child, taking photos of the incident and distributing the images.

The case re-adjourns on 14th October and the trio remain in custody.
