Metal Band Comprising Of 11-Year-Olds Go Viral, Shred In Times Square

It’s not too uncommon these days for kids as young as 11 to start their own bands but one such outfit from New York have taken things to a whole new level. The three youngsters have formed their own metalcore band Unlocking The Truth, and will be the most brutal 6th graders you see today.

Featured on Vice music blog Noisey, members Malcolm Brickhouse, Jarad Dawkins and Alec Atkins had a chat about their scope and influences, which range from Escape The Fate to Motionless In White to Chelsea Grin. Ironically, they’re probably already bigger than some of the bands they look up to.

In the below video, which has racked up over a million views in just over a month, the mini metalheads take to Times Square and belt out some earth-moving breakdowns with some pretty impressive rhythm about them. Though their instruments might be as big/bigger then they are, they have all their moves down pat, with their power stances on lock like a band who means business. Despite some moves veering dangerously close to crabcore posturing, those guitars are metal as they come.

They don’t have any shows locked in yet, but they have their sights set high, so expect big things. Check out the video below, and read the full article over at Noisey, and prepare to get your throw-down on.
