Grunge legends Mudhoney are set to perform on top of the 605-foot tall Space Needle in their hometown of Seattle on 11th July, celebrating the 25th anniversary of iconic label Sub Pop, with the band having to be tethered to the top of the famous landmark for the gig.
The show will then be followed by a 1-day free festival on 13th July to celebrate the silver jubilee of Sub Pop, who were instrumental in bringing grunge to the world in the early ’90s, putting out music from Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr, Fugazi and Afghan Whigs. The festival, which takes place on 13th July, will see Mudhoney play again, as well as performances from Dinosaur Jr’s J. Mascis, Built To Spill, Pissed Jeans, Chad VanGaalen and many more.
Mudhoney, who released their first single Touch Me I’m Sick through Sub Pop in 1988, released their ninth studio album Vanishing Point this year and have a biography, Mudhoney: The Sound And The Fury, coming out later in 2013.
