Muse To Release New Album In November, Share First Single ‘Something Human’

Muse. Are. Back.

After teasing us with an acoustic snippet last week, the legendary UK rock trio have unleashed the full studio version of their fresh tune ‘Something Human’ and made the moment even more supermassive by confirming it’s been sliced off a brand new album!

The band’s eighth studio LP and follow-up to 2015’s Drones will be released this November, and reportedly features previous singles ‘Dig Down’ and ‘Thought Contagion’.

The blockbuster music video for Muse’s synthy, cinematic ballad ‘Something Human’ takes place in the same retro-futuristic, ’80s-inspired simulated world as their previous two clips, and is basically an homage to all your favourite ’80s flicks: Tron, Back To The Future, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, hell, Matt Bellamy even transforms into a werewolf ala Teen Wolf.

“Life on the road can bring out your inner beast, this song and video is about taming that beast, desiring a return to something human. Plus, Teen Wolf is cool,” says Bellamy.

The clip was directed byLance Drake, who also helmed the band’s past two clips. He adds, “Our aim with ‘Something Human’ was to continue the journey that began in ‘Dig Down’ and ‘Thought Contagion’.

“Pulling further into a simulated world we follow Matt, Dom, and, Chris on the chase of a lifetime – where something as simple as returning some video tapes becomes an epic journey.”

Lyrically, the song addresses the need to reset and re-engage with our human emotions, which is a very Muse thing to be about.

ICYMI, Muse finally brought their Drones tour to our shores last year, but were criticised because it only included a “lame” two dates.

But with a new album now on the horizon, hopefully it won’t be too long before they return for a full lap.
