New Aussie Festival ‘Scene & Heard’ Drops Nostalgia-Inducing Debut Lineup

Australia (well, Newcastle) is about to cop a brand new music festival called Scene & Heard, and it’s pretty much guaranteed to make you think it’s the late ’90s again.

The first-ever Scene & Heard will take place at Newcastle’s Wickham Park this November, with sets from rock outfits like The Living End, Spiderbait, Something For Kate and Killing Heidi, as well as electro bangers from ‘UFO’ hitmakers Sneaky Sound System.

Hosted by Frenzal Rhomb guitarist and former triple j host Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall, the festival will also feature the talents of Dallas Crane, Skunkhour, Front End Loader and more, giving us some series Big Day Out and Homebake vibes.

Aussie club legends Kid Kenobi, Groove Terminator and Goodwill will also be bringing their beats to a dedicated party space, so don’t worry about bringing that copy of the 2002 Ministry Of Sound Annual you’ve got lying around.

Because it’s on a Sunday, the first-ever Scene & Heard festival will be wrapping up at 9pm so that there’s plenty of time to come to grips with the end of your weekend.

Aside from all the music, organisers are also promising a classic car display, vintage vinyl fair and “rock n’ roll markets”. Expect small batch craft brews, premium beers, cocktails and food trucks, too.
