New Music From The 1975 Could Drop In “Days”

Fans of The 1975 are losing their sh*t after their manager seemingly confirmed via Twitter that the band would be dropping new music this week.

Responding to a tweet from a fan who wrote “the iliwys era is still here”, referencing The 1975’s second album — 2016’s I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It — the band’s manager Jamie Oborne responded, saying: “Yes for a few more days…”

It comes after Matt Healy & co have spent months cryptically teasing their third album, which is believed to be titled Music For Cars.

Healy previously gave us a few clues about when exactly we can expect the band’s highly anticipated new LP to drop.

As NME reports, on stage at Latitude Festival last July, he repeatedly told the crowd: “the first of June, the 1975”.

The frontman then tweeted out the album title followed by, “1st June – The 1975,” , leading fans to believe the band would be dropping the disc on June 1st of this year.

Healy also gave us a clue as to what the new music sounds like writing, “One of our new songs sounds so much like The 1975 lol.” Although obviously, that does very little to help us.

The 1975 last visited Australia for Splendour In The Grass 2016, and promised to return down under the next year, but that never eventuated.

Hopefully now, with new music seemingly imminent, it won’t be long before we see them playing live on our shores again.
