Yesterday, Music Feeds reported that a busy sports schedule, rival tours, and the weather may not see The Rolling Stones return to play their recently postponed 14 On Fire Australian tour dates until late September at the earliest, and promoter Frontier Touring has now confirmed this timeframe.
“At this very sad time we would like to reassure Rolling Stones fans and ticket holders that every effort is currently being made to reschedule the postponed Australia and New Zealand dates for October/November 2014,” writes the promoter in a statement posted to their Facebook channel.
However, no specifics were offered. “Rescheduled dates are being presently worked on for The Rolling Stones ’14 On Fire’ Tour of Australia & New Zealand and will be announced as soon as possible. If the new dates are not suitable, rest assured you will be able to secure a refund.”
Echoing previous statements, the promoter urged fans to “hold on to their tickets,” though made it clear that “the option to secure a refund is now available to you via the official ticketing agency you purchased from.” All fees and charges incurred in ticket-purchase will be included in the refund.
“[An immediate return] would not be possible for the Adelaide Oval because it’s fully booked until September,” Adelaide Oval CEO Andrew Daniels told Fairfax. “Absolutely nothing could happen until after the AFL season.” Promoters are hoping to announce new dates “in a very short space of time.”
