NGV Announces Friday Nights At Melbourne Now 2014 Program

Consume have once again partnered with Melbourne’s National Gallery Of Victoria (NGV) in announcing the return of live music to the gallery’s Melbourne Now exhibition, with four of Melbourne’s most esteemed musical acts set to take stage at the NGV’s Great Hall, featuring Big Scary, World’s End Press, Brighter Later, and the Grammy-nominated Hiatus Kaiyote.

The exhibition itself is a celebration of “the latest art, architecture, design, performance and cultural practice to reflect the complex cultural landscape of creative Melbourne,” with the performances giving visitors after-hours access to this unique display, and a range of food and drink options.

“Following 2013’s sell-out Friday Night sessions, the series will return to the NGV with a home-grown focus to celebrate Melbourne Now,” said NGV Director Tony Ellwood. “The Melbourne Now gallery spaces across NGV International and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia will be activated…”

This means the “stellar line up in the Great Hall” will be matched with special “pop-up” talks and performances. “Best of all,” said Mr Ellwood, “we are pleased to announce these Friday Night events will be completely free.” World’s End Press kick off the program on Friday, 28th February.
