No Faith No More, Slipknot Sidewaves In 2015

Soundwave’s AJ Maddah has confirmed that newly-announced Soundwave 2015 headlining acts Faith No More and Slipknot will not be playing Soundwave sideshows when they hit the country for the festival in February 2015.

When asked on Twitter, Maddah said both headliners Slipknot and Faith No More “and a few others” will be “exclusive to the festival” and will therefore not be announcing any extra sideshows.

Both Slipknot and Faith No More have performed solo sideshows in Australia previously. Faith No More last played Soundwave in 2010, and the recently reactivated alt-metal heroes have been promising some new tunes of late. Meanwhile, Slipknot are currently putting the finishing touches on their long-awaited fifth album.

Maddah did not mention the other headlining band Soundgarden or bill-topping acts Slash and Marilyn Manson. Other acts on the lineup include Incubus, Lamb of God, Ministry, Antemasque, Gerard Way and Fall Out Boy. See the rest of the first lineup here.

Maddah revealed earlier today that this morning’s massive announcement is “most” of the 2015 roster and that there will be “around 14 bands” on a forthcoming second announcement.
