Police Investigate Alleged Sexual Assault At Groovin The Moo Bendigo

Sex crime squad officers have launched an investigation after a 20-year-old woman was reportedly sexually assaulted at the Bendigo leg of Groovin The Moo.

Police are appealing for help from punters who attended the festival last Saturday, 30th April, to help them ID the alleged assailant.

According to a statement from Victoria Police, the female festival-goer was dancing by herself at the Holmes Road event just after 4pm, when an unknown man grabbed her from behind and sexually assaulted her.

A passer-by reportedly saw her in distress and came to help, triggering the alleged offender to run off.

He’s been described as being around 18-years of age, standing between 180 and 183cm tall with a slim build, blue eyes, light coloured hair and a pasty complexion.

He was wearing a white shirt with the word “Premiers” written on the back at the time, and had an injured arm in a red sling.

It’s a pretty specific description, but just in case there’s any confusion, police have also released a facial composite, which you can check out below.

Anyone who might have any information that could help the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
