Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis Has Been Hospitalised

Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ frontman Anthony Kiedis has been taken to hospital just moments before the band were due to perform a headline set at a festival in California.

The band’s bassist Flea was forced to deliver the news live on stage at KROQ’s Weenie Roast festival.

“Anthony is on his way to the hospital right now and we’re unable to play this evening,” he said, as reported by ABC News.

“We are devastated about it. We’re really sad. We love you so much. We live to rock…But unfortunately there’s a medical thing that happened and he needed to deal with it.”

A number of outlets are reporting that Kiedis was suffering from extreme stomach pain hours before he was scheduled to go on stage.

It’s not a great time for Kiedis to be having medical issues. The band are touring heavily this year and are also due to drop their 11th album The Getaway on 17th June.

The Chili Peppers are yet fill us in on whether Kiedis is okay or not but hopefully he’ll return to the stage soon. Their next gig is on 17th May.
