Reunited ’90s Faves Bachelor Girl Drop New Single ‘Speak’, 20 Years After ‘Buses & Trains’

Tania Doko and James Roche, otherwise known as Aussie pop duo Bachelor Girl, have released their first new music since 2011, 20 years on from their huge debut single ‘Buses & Trains’.

Fresh from announcing their reunion following a 12-year hiatus, the pair have today released new single ‘Speak’, a heartfelt track about telling your own truth.

“We wrote ‘Speak’ last year in Stockholm, before the current tide of truth-telling that is rushing through society began,” say Doko and Roche.

“It’s a personal invitation — to pull up the rug and see what’s under it, to share what’s really going on for us, to be heard; understood.

“The world is busy upgrading itself with regard to how much truth is the right amount. This is important not only as a society but on a personal level; in our friendships, in our relationships.”

Speaking with Music Feeds in January from her home in Sweden, Doko said Bachelor Girl were aiming to share a new album with fans before the end of 2018, as well as new tour dates.

Bachelor Girl’s debut single ‘Buses & Trains’ was released in June 1998, and went on to win the APRA Song Of The Year Award. The duo released their debut album Waiting for the Day later that year, before releasing Dysfunctional in 2002 and Beautifully Wrong – The Lost Songs in 2011.
