Run The Jewels, Pussy Riot, Massive Attack To Play Banksy’s Run-Down Dismaland Bemusement Park

Elusive UK street artist Banksy has opened his own appropriation of Disneyland called Dismaland, and as you’d expect it’s not your usual perky amusement park – in fact, it’s a wasteland.

The Bemusement Park, opened in North Somerset in Britain, features a dilapidated Disney castle, balloons that say “I am an imbecile” and a book burning fire pit. It’s not all doom and gloom though as the park actually has a brilliant music program scheduled for every Friday and Saturday night from late August through September.

Run The Jewels will play one of the nights while Massive Attack, Pussy Riot and Kate Tempest will play the closing night of the park. On top of these, there will also be a comedy night and DJs until 1am every Saturday night.

The photos that have emerged so far of the park all look very depressing, in a that’s-so-Banksy sort of way, with even the staff wearing a glum look.

All-in-all though, it’s actually one of Banksy’s most impressive works as it looks as if it would’ve taken a lot of time to make something look this miserable. There’s an incredible amount of detail given to each crumbling feature in the park, and no doubt people will probably flood through over the next month.

The park is open until 27th September and admission is £3.
