A Sad Day For Sydney: Cherished Kanye-Loves-Kanye Mural Has Been Painted Over

One of the last bastions of love and joy left in the city of Sydney has been rubbed out.

OK so that may be a tad melodramatic. But the fact remains that our fair city’s beloved shrine to the greatest love of all – that between Kanye West and himself – has been painted over.

But the culprit behind this act of fun-spoiling is not (for once) the state government, but rather the mural’s artist himself.

Local painter Scott Marsh previously offered to erase his artistic masterpiece on the wall of Chippendale’s Teggs Lane – which has since become a worldwide phenomenon – if Yeezy met his demands.

Obviously the Louis Vuitton Don was none too pleased with the massive depiction of himself tongue-punching… himself, and his people reportedly offered Marsh a “pretty decent chunk of money” to get rid of it.

But Marsh countered with another offer: if Yeezy bought an uber-limited $US100,000 print which he had listed for sale on online art store 1xRun before an imposed two-week deadline, then he’d paint over the mural.

And yes, friends, it appears as if Ye has complied.

It marks a big win for Kanye and a big pay day for Marsh, but a sad, sad day for Sydneysiders and art lovers the world over.

But we’ll always the memories #kanyeloveskanye4eva

Oh, and a pinky finger:
