Splendour 2014 Forum Lineup

The 2014 lineup for the Splendour In The Grass Forum has been unveiled, offering punters one of the event’s most intriguing rosters yet. In addition to a new Twilight Film Festival and Late Night Comedy Club, Tony Jones will be bringing the ABC Monday night staple Q&A to Splendour 2014.

Meanwhile, this year’s keynote interview will see Triple J‘s Lindsay “The Doctor” McDougall sitting down with former Greenpeace global CEO, acclaimed author, and one of the world’s foremost authorities on sustainable economies Paul Gilding to discuss what life on Earth will be in 2030.

Forum 2014 will host a discussion panel on the subject of the case of Edward Snowden with NSA officer-turned whistleblower Thomas Drake, whose own leaks inspired Snowden to take action, as well as his and Snowden’s attorney, Jesselyn Radack, Greens Senator Scott Ludlam, and others.

There will also be more culturally-oriented presentations, like the return of Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire’s Women of Letters, which will feature Lauren Mayberry, Courtney Barnett, and others narrating and maybe even performing A Letter to the Song They Wish They’d Written.

You’ll also be able to check out a Songwriter’s Speak panel with Dave Faulkner, RUFUS, and Japanese Wallpaper, and a panel led by Andrew McMillen, featuring Scott Owen, Remi, Dan Mac (Art vs Science), and Kingswood titled, LOADED: Honest Conversations About Drugs.

And each afternoon at dusk you’ll be able to catch the Forum Twilight Film Festival, which will be screening thought-provoking documentaries and musical biopics, while the Late Night Comedy Club will host some of the country’s finest comic talents, like Tom Ballard, Clare Hooper, and more.
