Stereosonic 2016 Has Officially Been Cancelled

It was speculated yesterday that Steresonic had been cancelled but now it’s officially confirmed that the event will not go ahead in 2016.

Organisers have taken to Facebook to announce that the dance music festival is going on “hiatus” in 2016.

“Totem Onelove Group is currently working on bringing Stereosonic fans the best festival experience possible,” they wrote

“As part of this, we are taking a hiatus during 2016. However, we will return in 2017, bigger and better.”

This still gives Stereo punters some hope that the festival will return which goes against reports that it had been canned permanently. Earlier this year Stereosonic’s US buyer SFX filed for bankrupcy sparking speculation that it was the end for the festival.

This morning, it was discovered that the office of Stereosonic’s organiser Totem Onelove was up for lease.

Stereosonic started in Melbourne in 2007 and has since expanded to a five-city event. It also operated as a two day event in 2013 and 2014.
