Sticky Fingers Shame Sydney Opera House For Quiet Sound At Tame Impala Gig

Tame Impala took to the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House last night for the first of two sold out shows at the iconic venue but apparently while the view was top notch the sound wasn’t quite as good.

Sticky Fingers were in attendance and jumped on Facebook following the gig to shout out Tame Impala “for making some of the best music on the planet,” but then went on to criticise the “quiet” sound with some choice words.

“Shame on Sydney for making it so quiet,” they wrote.

“We might as well gone and spooned our grandmothers graves on the other side of the planet, silently jerking off, cuddling our teddy bears. Would have been louder.”

We’re not sure that sound is quite as pleasant as the psychedelic rumblings of Tame Impala but you get their point.

After spending much of the year touring you’d think Sticky Fingers’ ears may be a little worse for wear but they weren’t the only ones who had a problem with it. One tweeter told the Opera House during the gig, “listen to the crowd! The music isn’t anywhere to be heard” to which the Opera House replied, “The sound has been turned up.”

At the time of writing, Sticky Fingers’ Facebook post has received over 12,000 likes.

Tame Impala are the second act in under a week to take to that stage. Chet Faker played to two sold out audiences over the weekend. while later this week Florence + The Machine will take to the forecourt stage for four epic shows.

Hopefully the Opera House will turn it up for Tame tonight.

UPDATE 11/11/15: The Sydney Opera House has responded to the sound quality criticisms at the Tame Impala show.
