SXSW 2013 Lineup Begins To Take Shape, Aussie Bands Announced

Band applications to perform at the massive South By Southwest conference in the US have closed, and with that comes the announcement of who made the cut. 16 Aussie bands will be making the pilgrimage, as well as 3 from NZ.

Potentially the most influential and important music industry conference in the world, SXSW takes place in Austin, Texas, which come April becomes Mecca for all those musically inclined. To perform at this year’s conference, around 10,000 different bands applied with around 250 Aussies in the mix. According to TheMusic.com.au around 71 Australian bands were officially invited.

50 more bands will be invited for the next instalment, but you will need to get your application in before November 7. The clock is ticking! Applications will cost $40.
