The xx will be heading to Australia for two intimate shows in Melbourne and Sydney this July in the lead-up to their new album Coexist, which will be released at the beginning of September. They’ll be playing a show at the Forum in Melbourne on the 18th and a show at the Metro in Sydney on the 20th.
They were last out here for the St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival in 2010, and revealed their plans (via their Facebook this morning) to return, saying: “We are very excited to be returning to Australia soon for two small shows… To try and stop touts getting all the tickets, there is a lottery system which you can apply for starting at 10am today… Hope to see you. xx The xx”.
A ticket lottery has been released for both dates, with the Sydney one happening here, and Melbourne one happening here. Coexist will be released in Sydney on Friday the 7th of September through Young Turks and Remote Control.
