Thumpers Debut Australian Tour Announced

UK indie outfit Thumpers have announced their debut Australian tour dates, seeing the dynamic duo hitting shows in both Sydney and Melbourne this coming July.

Thumpers are childhood friends Marcus Pepperell and John Hamson Jr, who’ve been making music together since their teenage years. Their unique brand of shimmery, layered indie pop has earned them tours with the likes of CHVRCHES and Everything Everything

Debut album Galore, produced alongside Bat For Lashes producer Dave Kosten, was released in Australia back in March and the dreamy synth-laden beacon of hope has so far hit all the right spots.

It may just be a two-piece live performance for Thumpers, but it’s what they do with it. Earning a rep in the Northern Hemisphere as reliable party-starters, the pair have won crowds of all sorts of sizes through their gripping display.

UPDATE 4:15pm 01/07/14: Supports have been announced for Thumpers’ upcoming Australian tour. The boys will now be joined by Tales In Space and Billy Fox in Sydney, while the latter will be following them down the East Coast to join them together with Alex Cameron in Melbourne.

Billy Fox is a Sydney-based producer of the kind of thought-provoking electronica that has made him the toast of taste-making blogs nationwide. Since releasing the soulful Monuments in late 2013, increasing numbers of fans have been gravitating towards Fox’s simple yet elegant productions.

Tales In Space have spent the last 12 months hitting home runs, with a relentless gigging schedule that has seen them embark on several tours around the country, wow punters at BIGSOUND and Valley Fiesta, and even stop by Music Feeds Studio for an awesome Music Feeds LIVE session.

Finally, singer, writer, and storyteller Alex Cameron will be bringing a totally unique live experience to Thumpers’ Australian shows. Accompanied by his trusty sax player, Roy Molloy, Cameron will bring to life stories of “shame and humiliation in a dying industry” from his album Jumping The Shark.
