Tom DeLonge has taken to social media to show his support for Aussie muso Amy Shark.
DeLonge met Shark and her husband Shane this week calling them, “two great people that supported me throughout all of my musical adventures.”
Shark has been chipping away at the music industry for almost a decade now but she finally caught a break last year with Adore which came in at number two in the Hottest 100.
“Now, after a decade of (largely unnoticed) work, she has exploded and #1 in Australia. A synth-pop blend of Indie-Rock and Emotion, I could not be happier for her and her husband, who is her number one fan,” DeLonge further wrote.
Shark responded swiftly to the post writing, “Tom, you’re the greatest songwriter of our generation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for appreciating my music. Chat soon.”
It seems that DeLonge is currently in the country as he tweeted nine hours ago that he had just met Shark and her husband. Shark is currently touring around the country with Groovin The Moo festival and is set to play in Bendigo today.
“She is the next HUGE thing,” he added in his tweet.
He may not be right about UFOs but this is something he may just be right about.
