Turns Out A New Arctic Monkeys Album Might Not Be That Far Off

After a long-ass wait, the countdown to the next Arctic Monkeys album has officially begun.

BBC dude Shamir Masri has confirmed the indie rockers have started work on their sixth LP, tweeting: “[Frontman] Alex Turner told me during an interview for BBC Sheffield they are coming back to Sheffield to pen a new album. It IS happening!”

In fact, the whole bloody band have been spotted hanging out around the English borough, with multiple snaps popping up online from over-the-moon fans who’ve randomly bumped into them about town:

Earlier this year, Turner said there was “no hurry” to work on a new Arctic Monkeys LP while he was still tied up with his sideproject The Last Shadow Puppets, so it’s possible the album process will be a slow and steady one. But who are you to tell us not to get excited? YOU’RE NOT OUR REAL DAD.

Anyway, the band’s last LP, AM, was released back in 2013, prompting an Australian tour the following year. Fingers crossed a new album in the works means it won’t be too long before the next one!
