Violent Soho Set A Date For A Very Big Announcement

Hell fuck yeah! It looks like Mansfield’s finest rock outfit, Violent Soho, could be preparing to drop new music in October after teasing fans with a mysterious date on social media.

Posting a photo of a flaming boombox (below) to their Facebook page, Violent Soho have slated 8th October as a day to remember, but haven’t explained why.

The date, which is JUST OVER TWO WEEKS AWAY, could see the announcement of the highly-anticipated follow-up to Violent Soho’s 2013 album Hungry Ghost, a tasty new track or maybe even confirmation of the band’s slot on the Soundwave 2016 lineup.

Violent Soho began recording their new album in August, and later asked fans to help name the release. Hilarity, of course, ensued, leading to possible album titles such as Bronwyn Bishop’s Handbag, the anagram-tastic Hot Oven Silo, the philosophical Shitpants: A Memoir and the pretty lazy Hungrier Ghost.

In March, Violent Soho were sort of locked in for Soundwave 2016, but are yet to have their festival slot officially announced.

So will 8th October see the announcement of a new Violent Soho album, single, an official Soundwave 2016 slot, or maybe something else? Only time will tell.

Violent Soho were today announced on the 2016 Laneway Festival lineup, alongside the likes of Grimes, Flume, CHVRCHES and Beach House. Aside from Laneway, the band are also set to perform at Tassie’s Party In The Paddock next year.
