Watch Annie Hamilton Put A New Spin On Methyl Ethel’s ‘Ubu’ For Like A Version

Annie Hamilton has taken on a local fave for Like A Version, covering Methyl Ethel’s ‘Ubu’ on triple j, Hamilton shakes the track up — it’s a little darker, a little grungier and really good.

The single, which came in at #4 in the Hottest 100 of 2017, goes off with swirling guitars and Hamilton’s anguished vocals.

We also received a performance of Hamilton’s ‘Panic’. The lead single is taken from her self-titled EP.

Chatting about her choice for the segment, Annie Hamilton says the single is really relevant to the time we’re in at the moment. “Lyrically, this idea of a person withdrawing and pulling back and at the moment everyone is obviously so isolated.”

She also mentioned she’s done a bunch of Like A Versions in the past. ‘Great Southern Land’ with Little May, ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ with Savage Garden, and she played the xylophone with Dustin Tebbutt on ‘Young Folks’.
