Watch Ásgeir Turn Mura Masa’s ‘Love$ick’ Into A Sweet Slow-Burner For ‘Like A Version’

Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir will be back in the country in a few short months for Splendour In The Grass and some headline shows, but has just taken the opportunity to jump into the triple j studios to perform a cover and an original for ‘Like A Version’.

The cover was of one of 2015’s hottest songs, ‘Love$ick’ by Guernsey-hailing producer Mura Masa.

Ásgeir took the up-beat track and slowed it down and stripped back the instrumentation to create a truly mesmerising melody, with his full-bodied, soul-clenching vocals twisting the vocals into his very own design.

“I just listened to it before we did this,” Asgeir said, when asked whether he’d been a fan of the song for a long time.

While in the triple j studios, Ásgeir also performed his original single ‘Stardust’ on guitar with help from his good mate Julius Róbertsson, from his forthcoming 2017 album Afterglow.

Check out both performances, below.
